QHB #4 -- Summer 2000

The Boy Scout Regen Receiver, by George Heron, N2APB

A speaker was mounted in the first unit. In later units, we moved the speaker to the side and put a small variable cap in place to act as bandspread control.

Front panel and chassis "base" are soldered together and braced with angle pieces

Cleaning and polishing the front panel in preparation for the labels and Krylon spray finish (reduces surface oxidation)
Note the speaker now mounted on the side (screwed to the angle brace) and small air variable cap for "bandspread" mounted in place of the speaker hole on the front panel.
